Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Shop / deputy Managers and within the limits established by BFL Group’s policies and procedures, the cashier is responsible to greet the customers including answering phones, routine billing questions / issues and directing customer inquiries to appropriate party.
He / she is accountable to handle cash transaction between customer and the store, processing sales quickly, accurately and in a very efficient way and safeguarding company assets. As well as, receive and process all payment according to BFL standard procedures.
Key responsibilities :
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service
- Ensure that inside and outside areas of the shop are kept clean, tidy and organized
- Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements on the cash area
- Maintain accurately all cash and media at the registers
- Recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations
- Answer customer’s queries, and provide information on procedures and policies
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
- Establish and identify prices of goods, services or admission, and organize bills using calculators, cash registers
- Receive payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers, or Credit notes
- Keep updated with the current exchange rates, credit card promotions and payments
- Issue receipts, credits, or change due to customers only with the availability of the invoice / bill without any exception
- Count the cash received from the customers and change given; as well as, check and count the cash fund
- Calculate total payments received during a time period with the presence of manager. As well as ensure proper turn-over of cash register to the next duty cashier and sign the cash count paper
- Compute and record totals of transactions
- Place purchased items in plastic bags
- Sort, count, wrap currency and coins and stamp all money categories; as well as, safeguard his / her own stamp.
- Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions.
