Following the internal promotion of the current postholder, Nexus International School Malaysia is now seeking an outstanding Head of English to join our wonderful school. Our new Head of English will lead our expanding team, including an Assistant HoD and a collaborative and supportive group of ten teachers. The department enjoys a dedicated suite of classrooms and is well-resourced. English is a successful subject at IGCSE and IB and there is a lot of opportunity for a creative and inspiring HoD to take it to new heights. Our new HoD will be a high quality English teacher with experience in at least one of our core curriculum offers (IGCSE or IB) who has had solid middle leadership experience as a Head of Department or an Assistant HoD.

Nexus is located in Putrajaya - one of the larger suburbs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Established in 2008 as part of the Taylor’s Education Group, we currently enrol 750 students from Early Years to Year 13 who learn through the IPC, IGCSE and IBDP curricula. We have an inclusive admissions policy and you can expect to teach learners with learning and language needs as well as exceptionally academic children. The student population is made up of over 30 different nationalities giving our school a truly global character. Previous international experience is not required, but the desire to work in a diverse international community is essential.

Your references must cover the last 5 years as a minimum, therefore you may need to add a fourth reference to ensure you meet this safeguarding requirement.

We will be closing the application period on Wednesday 26th November at 9am KL time. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and we reserve the right to make an early appointment if an outstanding candidate is identified. Final round interviews will be held week commencing 7th December. Candidates will be given the package information before the final round interview to aid with decision-making. All interviews will take place online via Zoom.
