The Chief Strategy Officer will be the principal steward of the institution's long-term strategic agenda - transforming strategic intent into execution, shaping external policy influence, and forging deep alignment with key institutions within the ecosystem. This is a nation facing, high visibility leadership role, primarily accountable for turning strategy into action and anchoring the institution's role in broader socio-economic policy ecosytems.
As a strong partner to the CEO, the CSO will help frame how the institution contributes to national goals, lead institutional transformation, and act as the primary interface with government, regulators and external stakeholders to shape policy and strategic outcomes.
The Challenges
- Policy Shaping & Influence : Serve as the principal advisor on policy direction, collaborating with government, regulators and international partners to shape reforms and frameworks that advance the institution's mandate. Provide thought leadership through evidence-based policy recommendations and strategic foresignt, ensuring institutional relevance amidst evolving economic, regulatory and social landscapes.
- Strategic Agenda & Alignment : Lead the design and delivery of the institution's strategic roadmap, ensuring coherence between long-term vision, operational delivery, and external priorities. Build mechanisms for strategic review, foresight and performance tracking to ensure agility and alignment across all functional lines, while translating complex institutional goals into clear execution pathways that deliver tangible outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Institutional Trust : Own the stakeholder engagement strategy by mapping priorities, managing senior relationships, and positioning the organization as a trusted institutional voice. Lead structured dialogues and high level engagements that align diverse interests, build confidence and ensure the organization's strategy reflects the expectations of government, industry and the nation at large.
- Institutional Transformation & Execution Discipline : Drive strategic transformation by embedding strategy into structure, culture and capability. Lead cross-functional initiatives that build organizational cohesion, strengthen governance, and institutionalise execution excellence. Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture that links strategy to measurable impact, ensuring the organization moves with clarity, purpose and discipline.
- Governance, Risk & Integrity : Partner with the CEO and board to uphold strong governance, transparency, and ethical standards in all strategic decisions. Maintain oversight of strategic risks, ensuring foresight in navigating complex policy and reputational environments. Champion accountability, stewardship, and integrity as central pillars of the organization's long-term sustainability.
What It Takes
