Job descriptionPossessed a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB). Those who are called to the Malaysian Bar shall have an advantage but not a pre-requisite. At least 3 years of working experience in the related field. Have a practicing certificate from the court and annual certificate ( Bar Council). Preferably with experience in corporate (joint venture, share sale and shareholder agreements, acquisitions, due diligence) and commercial matters as well as legal compliance and dispute resolutions in related field. Good drafting skills and sound knowledge of commercial transactions. Preferably with experience in the property development / construction industry. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Analytical, meticulous and able to meet tight deadlines with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency. Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Responsibilities :
- Draft and / or review legal documents / contracts related to the businesses of the Company, including agreements, correspondences and any other documents in relation to conveyancing, litigation, corporate and commercial transactions;
- Conduct legal research and to keep abreast of new laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its businesses and advise the management on any potential legal issues / risks arising therefrom;
- Review, recommend and / or develop policies, procedures or guidelines for the Company and / or its respective business units to ensure compliance with the new laws and regulations;
- Liaise with external legal counsels / consultants;
- Act as the custodian of all legal documents and ensure proper filing of these legal documents;
- Provide prompt updates and reports as may be requested by the HOD / management;
- Ad-hoc assignments as may be assigned by the HOD / management.
