- This role will be responsible for developing, leading and embedding procedure supplier contracting capabilities within the sourcing team. The role holder will ensure all commercial terms and conditions are clearly articulated in supplier agreements, ensuring they align to business requirements and mitigate risks to BP. They will develop and embed standardized templates for use by the team and provide training on negotiation strategies and techniques as well as contract review and approval processes. This role requires collaboration with multiple partners across Procurement, Legal, Finance, HR and other functions. Key Responsibilities :
- Support the development of a risk-based approach to supplier selection and contracting which is aligned to BP’s values and standards;
- Review, negotiate and finalize contractual terms and conditions for complex deals, including scope changes, variations and terminations;
- Develop and deliver training materials related to contract management and negotiation skills to the sourcing teams and key partners;
- Create and maintain template documents for use by the sourcing teams when drafting contracts;
- Work closely with internal legal counsel to establish effective governance structures for contract execution and administration;
- Provide support during major incidents or supplier insolvencies;
- Find opportunities for continuous improvement in contracting processes and lead initiatives to implement improvements;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant market trends, regulatory changes and emerging risks affecting BP’s supply chain and contracting activities.Key Qualifications :
- Experience working within procurement or contracts management roles within an international organization;
- Degree or equivalent experience qualified in law, business administration or equivalent;
- Postgraduate qualification in project management, leadership or similar desirable;
- Solid understanding of contract law principles and ability to apply them effectively;
- Demonstrated experience in using Agile methodologies and agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Trello;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong teammate;
- Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat;
- Experience managing third party relationships;
- Experience in facilitating training sessions and workshops;
- Able to travel internationally as required;
- Experience of working in a multinational environment;
