General Manager, Air Freight

Penerangan pekerjaanBachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Logistics, or related field. Minimum 8–10 years of experience in air freight forwarding, with proven leadership in commercial and operational management. Strong understanding of IATA regulations, carrier management, and freight operations. Excellent communication skills in English. Ability to converse in Mandarin will be an advantage to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and partners. Demonstrated success in leading teams and developing new business opportunities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and data-driven decision-making.
Overview
This position oversees the end-to-end air freight operations and commercial performance, driving sales growth, service excellence, and operational efficiency across Malaysia. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep air freight knowledge and a proven track record in managing both commercial and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall Air Freight division, ensuring operational excellence across import / export processes, documentation, and customer service.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, GP, and volume targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, consolidators, and key clients to secure capacity and competitive rates.
- Oversee freight procurement, carrier negotiations, and rate management in line with market trends.
- Drive team performance through coaching, KPI management, and training initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance, ensuring cost control, accurate billing, and profitability of the division.
