Responsibilities
1. To ensure that the Company’s quality system is continuously improved, updated and maintained. To ensure the continuous certification of the Company to ISO 9001 : 2000 quality system. To maintain the quality system through an annual internal quality audit schedule and any other means that operates the system. To regularly upgrade staff awareness on quality standards through communication session and training. To ensure efficiency and effectiveness of QA / QC Coordinators and document controller. To work towards ISO certification of other private companies within the CIGC and major subcontractors undertaking the Company’s current projects. To provide regular report on performance of projects and subcontractors based on accepted quality criteria.
To effectively and efficiently manage defect rectification works during Defects Liability Period (DLP) of completed projects and ensure CMGD is obtained. To manage defects rectification works by optimizing the available resources and keeping the cost within allowable limits. To ensure costs related to rectification works are timely captured and apportioned to the relevant subcontractors. To provide a monthly comprehensive cost analysis on defects rectification works carried out for the projects handled. To inform, educate and train project and contract personnel about defective works. To conduct post mortem on projects after CMGD and report on the nature of defects rectification works carried out, the costs involved and the amount charged to subcontractors, to the Management. To regularly conduct training and communication session for contracts and project personnel about defective works and the measures and contingencies necessary to mitigate such works including the costs related for such works. To provide input and make recommendations to Management on the performance of subcontractors, quality of materials used and construction methods employed, based on the findings derived from defects rectification carried out. To monitor and measure performance of project maintenance department.
To build and manage a team of competent and motivated personnel. To enhance the competencies and skills of the staff by providing relevant trainings. To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department by leading, guiding and motivating the staff through better teamwork and spirit.
To actively take part in the selection and recommendation of subcontractor’s invited to quote, Subcontractor’s negotiation awards and tender opening process.
