Get to know the role
Responsible for the provision of advice to management on contemporary human resources management issues, employment and industrial law, workplace and local government. Provide advice to the management and implement industrial relations and employment policies in best practice of the industry by ensuring we create a Safe & Respectful Workplace environment for all.
Key Responsibilities
Handling inquiries from various departments relating to disciplinary issues, staff grievances, labour disputes, poor-performance and all other employee conduct related matters.Developing disciplinary letters, notices, documentation creating awareness related to disciplinary and / or Industrial Relations.Deliver training programs for line managers and supervisors on IR / disciplinary procedures & policies.Conduct counselling for employees whenever required.Collecting evidence, and compiling documents for disciplinary action, Industrial Court and Labour Court cases.Responsible for the investigation, verification and analysis of any misconduct / grievances and complaints by the employees and carry out domestic inquiry as and when required.Provide proactive strategies to develop and Implement a clear corporate framework for Industrial Relations policies and guidelines for the fair and effective management of employees taking into account operational requirements, employment legislation and best practices.Ensure the effectiveness of the policies and procedures and to constantly review and update Company policies relating to Industrial Relations.Keep abreast of the latest judicial precedents on dispute resolution on matters related to employment laws.Assist in the development, interpretation, application and implementation of the disciplinary guidelines, grievance handling, employee counselling, and other disciplinary-related matters.Provide guidance and expertise to stakeholders on Industrial Relations policies and procedures; and interprets the employment act and other HR practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements.Maintaining close working relationship with Government Authorities, related third parties and internal stakeholders on employment matters whilst preparing documents and attending the industrial disputes at IR.Assist the Manager - IR and / or the General Manager - Human Resource, in Employee Relations matters.Any other assignment that may be assigned from time to time.You should have
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma, Diploma in Human Resource Management related discipline or equivalent.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the area related to industrial relations and employment / labour matters.Familiar with Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967.Personal attributes : Analytical, proactive, fair, determined, confident, critical thinker, people oriented, logical, sense of urgency, good time management.Possess good command of English & Bahasa Malaysia.Performance-driven and team player.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage sensitive matters with discretion.Strong leadership with the ability to influence and coach managers on IR practices.Experience in Retail, F&B or Hospitality is an added advantage.Seniority level
