Overview
The Assistant Manager, Finance is responsible for assisting the Group Senior Finance Manager in performing day-to-day, administering and managing the operations of the finance department.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements of the Group in accordance with MFRS, Companies Act 2016 and Bursa Malaysia listing requirements.
- Review month end and year end closing activities for subsidiaries of the Group.
- Coordinate annual external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules, resolving queries and ensuring timely completion of the audit process.
- Ensure timely submission of reports to regulators.
- Liaise with company secretaries and external auditors.
- Oversee daily accounting functions including managing accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Supervise junior team members in the execution of routine operational tasks.
- Assist in preparation of tax computations and liaise with tax agents on filings and compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist in the coordination of annual budgets and periodic forecasts across business units, providing input for strategic planning.
- Perform variance analysis and highlight key issues to management.
- Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Liaise with internal auditors and coordinate internal audit activities.
- Perform ad hoc assignments and projects as required by management.
Requirements
A degree in Accounting, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred).At least 7 years of experience in finance or accounting.Solid experience in project budgeting, cost monitoring, and revenue recognition for projects.Hands-on in preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements, with exposure to stakeholder reporting, cash flow planning, tax computation / planning, and working with auditors and tax agents.Familiarity with accounting software, especially SQL, is an added advantage.Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles.Well-versed in tax matters and the importance of regulatory compliance.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.Effective in communication, presentation, and building stakeholder relationships.Core Competencies
