Summary of the Role
The External Sales Engineer is a crucial, on-site position focused on driving sales for the company and helping meet sales and margin targets. This role is a hybrid of sales, technical expertise, and customer service. You'll report to the General Manager of Sales and Business Development.
Key Responsibilities
Your core duties will revolve around the entire sales cycle, from generating leads to closing deals and providing after-sales support.
You will be responsible for preparing technical presentations, responding to customer inquiries and requests for quotes (RFQs) in a timely manner, and exploring new sales strategies to meet objectives.
You'll manage a portfolio of both new and existing clients. This involves frequent visits and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and build strong relationships.
A key part of the job is providing techno-commercial solutions to clients and assisting them with any technical issues, including warranty problems or product performance.
You are expected to stay informed about the market, including competitor activities (pricing, new products) and the financial health of your customers. You will report this information back to management.
You'll be responsible for preparing various reports and forecasts for management and ensuring all sales documentation (quotations, technical submissions) meets company standards.
Required Qualifications
The company is looking for a candidate with a specific blend of educational background and professional skills.
bachelor's degree in engineering
or a related field is required, though a diploma or degree in Sales / Marketing is also considered.
Experience in the
