Responsibilities
- Customs Clearance Management
Manage and oversee the end-to-end customs clearance process for all import shipments, ensuring adherence to applicable local and international regulations.
Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of customs forms (e.g., K1, K2, K8 / 9, ZB, and FTAs).Conduct comprehensive reviews of shipping documents for accuracy and compliance with customs requirements.Lead brokerage compliance and related activities for import shipments, engaging with regulatory agencies such as MITI, MIDA, SIRIM, and Customs.Logistics Operations & CoordinationPrepare operational schedules and coordinate import logistics activities to ensure timely and specification-compliant delivery of products.
Coordinate with shunting transporters for efficient and timely delivery and pick-up of import shipments.Materials Purchasing ManagementCreate material requirements plans based on production schedules and generate purchase requisitions in SAP.
Create and issue purchase orders in SAP after approval.Track delivery of purchase orders to ensure materials arrive on time and in quantity.Transfer purchase documents to the Finance Department for accounting.Regulatory Compliance & ExemptionsManage the application of NPCO / PCO COO to fulfill customer origin certification requirements.
Manage the application and renewal processes for MIDA certifications to secure duty exemptions for manufacturing raw materials.Oversee new applications and ensure timely updates for C1, C3, and CJ5 SST exemptions.Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant local and international trade regulations.Initiate SIRIM applications for electronics demonstration equipment when required.Supplier Management & PerformanceLiaise with logistics suppliers, brokerage agents, and transport companies, negotiating monthly prices and rates per company guidelines.
Monitor and analyze KPIs from materials suppliers, freight forwarders, and transporters to drive continuous improvement and corrective actions.Review contracts and SLAs for logistics suppliers.Reporting & Compliance MonitoringMaintain accurate import records and prepare comprehensive reports.
Monitor changes in customs regulations and trade policies, advising internal teams on necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or related fields5 years of experience in import-export processesExperience with LMW setup is a plusWell-versed in total logistics, supply chain, and customs requirementsExperience with SAP is a plusExcellent oral and written communication skillsWell-versed in customs brokerageSeniority level
