As a key part of the HPE strategy, the Hybrid Cloud Ops Software business integrates leading solutions like Ops Ramp, Morpheus, VM Essentials, and Zerto to deliver intelligent, AI-driven operations from edge to cloud. Serving enterprises and service providers, HPE simplifies complexity, accelerates modernization, and delivers measurable results—placing team members at the forefront of innovation in hybrid cloud.
We are seeking an accomplished Manager of Sales – Digital Sales to lead the digital go-to-market efforts for HPE VM Essentials. This role combines strategic forecasting, demand generation campaigns, team leadership, and rep development to drive sustainable revenue growth in the dynamic virtualization and IT infrastructure market. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, customer-obsessed, and adept at partnering with product, marketing, and customer success to accelerate adoption of HPE VM Essentials.

HPE VM Essentials is a scalable, cost-efficient virtualization and VM management solution designed for businesses seeking streamlined VM operations, robust security, and simplified cloud integrations. The Manager of Sales – Digital Sales will oversee digital selling motions that convert inbound and outbound digital engagement into qualified opportunities and closed deals.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecasting & Pipeline Management
- Develop and maintain accurate monthly / quarterly forecasts for digital sales tied to HPE VM Essentials.
- Define, track, and report on key pipeline metrics (SQLs, MQLs, conversion rates, velocity, average deal size, win rate).
- Establish and manage a robust digital funnel with clear stages, SLAs, and accountability.
- Use data analytics to identify gaps, risks, and upside opportunities; present data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with Finance and Marketing to ensure alignment on revenue targets, bookings, and budgets.
- Digital Campaigns & Demand Generation
- Design and execute end-to-end digital sales campaigns (paid media, organic search, social, email nurture, webinars, content offers) to drive pipeline for HPE VM Essentials.
- Define ICPs, targeting, messaging, and value propositions tailored to different buyer personas (IT admins, VM admins, cloud architects, CIOs).
- Collaborate with Marketing to create landing pages, assets, and CTAs that maximize conversion across the funnel.
- Leverage ABM and intent-data strategies to accelerate engagement with high-priority accounts.
- Measure campaign ROIs, cost per opportunity, and contribution to pipeline; iterate based on results.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Digital Sales Representatives and Sales Engineers (as applicable) to achieve or exceed quota.
- Set clear goals, performance metrics, and development plans; conduct regular 1 : 1s, performance reviews, and recognition.
- Foster a high-performance culture with collaboration across marketing, product, and customer success.
- Hire, onboard, and ramp new team members; ensure ongoing skills development and certification.
- Rep Development & Enablement
- Develop playbooks, scripts, and process flows for digital outreach, qualification, and handoff to close.
- Provide ongoing training on product features, competitive positioning, objection handling, and ROI storytelling for HPE VM Essentials.
- Implement sales coaching rhythms, call reviews, and battle cards to improve win rates.
- Equip reps with tools, dashboards, and enablement assets to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Sales Operations & Process Improvement
- Standardize selling processes, cadences, and SLAs; ensure CRM hygiene and accurate data capture.
- Define and track performance dashboards; provide actionable insights to leadership and field teams.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to relay customer feedback and influence product roadmap for VM Essentials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and contractual frameworks.
- Customer & Partner Alignment
- Build relationships with channel partners, MSPs, and strategic alliances that amplify digital reach for VM Essentials.
- Coordinate with Customer Success to ensure a smooth post-sale experience, renewal opportunities, and expansion into existing accounts.
- Advocate for customer-centric value realization, ROI, and TCO improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.5–8+ years of B2B software or IT infrastructure sales experience, with a strong track record in digital / e-commerce or inside sales leadership.Demonstrated success in forecasting, pipeline management, and quota attainment in a digital sales environment.Experience with virtualization, cloud management, or IT infrastructure solutions (preferably HPE ecosystem) is highly desirable.Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo), and analytics platforms.Strong analytical mindset; ability to translate data into actionable strategies.Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills; able to articulate ROI and business value to technical and executive audiences.Leadership experience : coaching, recruiting, performance management, and team development.Strong collaboration skills across marketing, product, sales operations, and finance.Desired Skills & Competencies
