Job Purpose
The Purchasing Executive is responsible for managing the procurement of non-trade / miscellaneous items and coordinating shipping functions to ensure effectiveness and efficiency across the company. This role enforces compliance with the company's Purchasing Control SOPs, supports cost-saving initiatives, maintains supplier performance, and provides cross-functional support to internal departments.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure timely procurement of non-trade / miscellaneous items with the right quality, quantity, and cost.
- Conduct effective negotiations with suppliers / vendors to support cost-saving programs and company objectives.
- Develop and maintain alternate sources of supply that meet stakeholder needs and company specifications.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance through annual vendor performance reports.
- Participate in purchasing initiatives and continuous improvement projects as required.
- Maintain proper filing and accessibility of procurement-related documents (e.g., vendor registration, integrity pact agreements, e-bidding / e-tendering checklists).
- Provide backup support for import / shipping activities to ensure timely clearance of materials.
- Ensure departmental processes and SOPs are implemented and consistently followed.
- Coordinate e-auction activities with service providers for non-trade related items when required.
- Support internal departments with purchasing-related inquiries or issues.
- Assist in daily purchasing operations and other duties as assigned by Management.
- Provide support to peers in the Purchasing Department, especially during their absence.
Person Specifications
Qualifications
Degree / Diploma in Business Administration, Purchasing / Procurement, Supply Chain, or equivalent.Professional certifications in procurement / supply chain (advantageous).Experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or manufacturing environment preferred.Proven track record in managing indirect material purchases.Specialized Skills / Knowledge
Proficiency in SAP MM.Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.Strong negotiation skills acquired through work experience and training.Technical Competencies
