Purchase Executive
Location : Klang, Selangor
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct product research and source for new suppliers and vendors.
- Source and procure materials, goods, products, and services while negotiating for the best and most cost-effective contracts and deals.
- Perform inventory inspections and reorder supplies / stock as necessary to maintain optimum levels.
- Conduct market research to keep abreast of emerging trends, pricing, and business opportunities.
- Inspect incoming stock and report any faulty items or inconsistencies immediately.
- Update and maintain accurate records of all purchase orders, payments, and received stock.
- Coordinate with the delivery / logistics team and follow up on delays or rescheduled orders.
- Attend product launches, exhibitions, and industry networking events to identify new opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all stock is packaged and delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.
- Utilize negotiation skills to secure the best value and terms for the company.
- Maintain high attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders and records.
- Manage warehouse reorder levels and prepare timely reports for management.
- Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks or assignments as instructed by the Superior.
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.Minimum 2–3 years' experience in purchasing or procurement; experience in a manufacturing environment is an added advantage.In-depth knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors).Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management procedures.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Experience in ERP / accounting systems such as AutoCount or SQL (knowledge in SAP / Oracle is also an advantage).Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare cost analysis and financial comparison reports.Good understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and supplier management.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken & written) will be an added advantage, to liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
