Penerangan pekerjaanSupport the implementation of comprehensive operational plans, policies, and procedures for KSK in the other states, to meet organizational goals and service delivery targets. Oversee the procurement, storage, deliveries, and distribution of food supplies, including both cooked meals and donated shelf-stable items. Supervise the operation staff, including volunteers, to ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service. Support relationship management with food suppliers, local authorities, and community partners to support operations. Represent the KSK organization at external events and stakeholder meetings (local authorities, community partners and meal sponsors). Assist in collecting and analyzing operational data, such as meal counts, costs, and feedback, to identify areas for improvement and optimize efficiency. Collaborate with the KSK management team to align operations with the organization's overall strategy and goals. Monitor compliance with food safety and handling regulations. Support the implementation of risk management measures and health protocols. Assist in managing a dedicated team of volunteers to support the daily operations. Foster a positive, collaborative, and rewarding volunteer experience to ensure high retention and productivity. Help provide guidance and training to ensure volunteers are supported and effective in their roles. Minimum 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the food service or non-profit sector is an added advantage. Good understanding of food safety, logistics, and supply chain management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team of staff members and volunteers. Proficient in data analysis and the use of performance management tools. Passionate about making a positive impact in the community and improving food security. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. Mandarin or Cantonese is an added advantage. Job Description
The Assistant Operations Manager will support the Operations Manager in overseeing the daily operations of Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), with a focus on sourcing, logistics, volunteer coordination, and delivery of sponsored cooked meals. The role involves working closely with internal teams, volunteers, and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of operations across Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Perak, Melaka, and Penang.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager will assist in the implementation and coordination of KSK’s operations. This includes helping manage food sourcing and logistics, liaising with sponsors, coordinating volunteers, and supporting operational planning. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about community service and food security.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Sponsorship Management :
- Assist in maintaining relationships with existing meal sponsors, including corporates and FMCG donors.
- Support negotiations and coordination with sponsors to ensure meals meet cost, nutritional, and safety standards.
- Help monitor sponsorship schedules and logistics to minimize last-minute changes and food wastage.
- Establish new partnerships, to expand the pool of reliable, cost-effective meal sources.
