Hub Strategy & Business Development Manager role at Hitachi Energy. This position reports to the Asia Pacific Hub Manager and functionally to the Global BU Strategy & Innovation lead. The role supports strategic market development in the APAC region and aims to achieve the Global BU growth ambition. Overview
The Hub Strategy & Business Development Manager plays a key role in the strategic development of the Hub by owning the organic & inorganic business strategies for the region and markets. This role will directly report to the Asia Pacific Hub Manager and functionally to the Global BU Strategy & Innovation lead. The role is to serve as a trusted resource for the Hub manager to develop markets in the region to meet & exceed the Global BU ambition of sustained 20% year-over-year growth by deploying & monitoring strategic initiatives. Additionally, and in close alignment with the Global BU Strategy & Innovation lead, the role will help identify inorganic opportunities, deliver against mergers and acquisition ambitions and build strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate possesses a mix of operational and strategic experience at a regional level. They will also have a proven track record of leading collaboration and innovation in a matrix organisation, managing diverse teams and delivering results. This role is open to be based in locations where Hitachi Energy is present in APAC; successful candidate will continue to be based in their respective home location / country. Responsibilities
Translate Global BU growth ambition into bankable growth plans for the region, analyze customer spend, competitive landscape, and Hitachi Energy opportunities; develop fit-for-country strategic initiatives (covering Sales & Operations) with Local Service Units (LSUs); deploy and continuously measure performance against objectives. Identify M&A opportunities within the Hub, drive growth, footprint expansion, portfolio & capability innovation; assist with deal flow management including due diligence, financial analysis, risk assessments; lead PMI to ensure value realization; work with Hub functions & LSUs. Foster a culture of innovation within the Service BU by incorporating outside-in perspectives on market, technology, and portfolio; pilot new solutions; develop an innovation funnel; build and maintain strategic partnerships with clients, vendors, and industry leaders; execute partnership strategy aligned with IoT-related initiatives to enhance capabilities. Conduct financial modelling, company valuation, and due diligence to evaluate strategic opportunities; contribute to financial planning and budgeting for the BU; analyze long-term market trends and provide recommendations for business development; support with management reports and quarterly updates with concise strategic storytelling. Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive strategy execution; mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing innovation team; promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your Background
You hold a master’s degree Experience in the Energy sector or in an OEM with service provision / Installed Base Management; experience with top management consulting, private equity, or investment bank is a plus. Significant and demonstrable experience in strategic planning, innovation management, and M&A at a global level within a complex / matrixed organisation. Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities; able to work in a fast-paced environment; thrives in a matrix organisation. Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills. Flexibility for business travel up to 25% annually within the APAC region. More About Us
